People have been taking baths for centuries, but now they’re far more than just a way to get clean. Modern studies have discovered that a hot soak can help promote better sleep, relieve stress, reduce depression, recover sore muscles, and even boost metabolism. And thanks to the new natural products that have recently landed on the market, you can quickly turn your bath into a spa-like experience.
Bath soaks that contain harsh soaps, artificial fragrance, and sulfates are a thing of the past. Gentle formulas have replaced them with clean ingredients that are unlikely to disrupt your pH or cause irritation. Mineral-rich bath salts containing skin-softening powders, infused with essential oils, algae, clay, and active natural ingredients will tranform your bath into a beautiful journey of senses.
Keep scrolling to discover my favorite non-toxic bath salts and bath soaks that promote a peaceful sleep, relieve muscle tension, hydrate your skin and pamper your senses.

Pursoma Minerals de Mer Body Soak
Inspired by the sea, Pursoma Minerals de Mer Body Soak is one of my favorite bath soaks ever. With only three ingrediens: Hand-harvested French grey sea salt, wild-harvested Laminaria digitata (brown algae), and organic Chlorella vulgaris (green algae), this bath soak is the ultimate antidote to daily stressors. The sea salt is packed with active minerals that draw out toxins, and algae extracts have premium humectant proprieties meant for deep hydration. The brand also has soaks for sleep aid (Digital Detox), fatigue (Resurrection), a soothing, post-workout soak (After The Class), post-yoga (Après Savasana) and one for common colds and flu (Hot Tub). The sleep and flu soaks are among my favorites. You cannot go wrong with either of these.

African Botanics Kalahari Desert Detox
Unlike most bath salts, African Botanics Kalahari Desert De-Tox Bath Salts are made with Kalahari crystal salt, a pure and mineral-rich salt harvested from the Kalahari Desert in Africa. They’re also unique because they’re infused with caffeine, which boosts circulation, breaks down cellulite and excess fluids, relieves muscle tension, and leaves skin soft and regenerated, plus seaweed extract and marula oil for deep hydration. It also contains African Buchu leaf, Juniper, and Lemongrass that provide mood-boosting scents as well as being antiseptics. This calming soak works to balance your pH levels and remineralize the whole body – reinvigorating while alleviating tension and dispelling stress.

Dr. Singha’s Mustard Bath
Dr. Singha’s Mustard Bath is unbelievably famous among athletes, who swear by it for its healing capabilities post-training. It’s formulated with certified-organic powdered mustard seed, along with pure-grade essential oils of wintergreen, eucalyptus, rosemary, and thyme. It’s also formulated with Sodium carbonate, an ingredient employed in the preparation of alkaline baths for use in dry, scaly, skin disorders to relieve irritation in eczema. The soak was the creation of Dr. Shyam Singha, a London-based acupuncturist, osteopath, and homeopath who was one of the most sought-after healers in the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s. Dissolve the soak in hot water (as hot as you can tolerate) and sink into this therapeutic soak.
